Accounts Receivable Lead

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a talented professional to join our team! As a key member of the Customer Services Department, you will manage the complex and analytical functions related to payment operations and reconciliation. In doing so you will have the opportunity to partner closely with multiple areas of the organization while you directly influence the daily operations of account balances, system interfaces, and reconciliations.

In this job, you will make an impact by:

  • Performing reconciliations to include: balancing for payment processing, customer information system, vendor accounts, and bank deposits

  • Conducting data analysis and evaluating: revenue and billing programs, proposals, processes, and procedures and making recommendations when necessary

  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex problems by researching and analyzing data

  • Managing the internal audit program by conducting audits to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

  • Managing unit projects and participating as a SME for larger projects within the section

  • Handling the occasional business or residential customer escalation and providing customer account summaries to leadership

  • Actively contribute to the mission and vision of Colorado Springs Utilities

What would make you successful in this role? The ideal candidate will offer three to five years of experience in a relevant customer service-oriented field, accounting, or financial function. Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a specific focus on Excel.
