Colorado Springs Utilities is looking to hire two Enterprise Systems Application Administrators to join our team; an Intermediate Enterprise Systems Application Administrator and a Senior Enterprise Systems Application Administrator.
Level of hire will be dependent on relevant experience and education**
In this job, you will support our technology solutions through implementation, maintenance and complex troubleshooting of both in-house developed and Commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) deployed on site and in public and private clouds on mixed OS platforms. Key enterprise application systems supported by this position include the Human Resources and Financial system, Asset and Work Management System, and a variety of applications supporting utility operations.
Typically, the Senior will be expected to work autonomously and on more complex incidents, problems and projects than the Intermediate Application Administrator.
Manage and administer software systems to ensure high availability, reliability, interconnectivity, and security of the supported business applications in the portfolio
Manage and administer application servers and software above the OS layer (includes startup/shutdown of QA and Production systems)
Install/Configure/Decommission/Deploy/Tune Software Applications
Troubleshoot and resolve production application/system issues
Identify, evaluate, coordinate, schedule and install application related patches and upgrades
Producing/Maintaining disaster recovery plans and testing
Configure and refine system monitoring and alerts
Plan, create, improve and maintain procedures and documentation related to administration of software applications, system and architecture design and maintenance, system and database backup policies, user management, and system release management
Automate existing system administration functions
Coordinates with vendor support for issue resolutions, patching and release management
T h e position requires Rotational On-Call support of mission-critical applications 7x24

What will it take to be successful? Highly qualified candidates will bring a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field, with three or more years of demonstrated experience. Additionally, we are seeking technical skills and knowledge in the following:
Prior experience with remote servers and server virtualization
Web servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS, IBM HTTP Server (IHS)
PowerShell, Java, Web Services, XML
Technical process definition and optimization
ITIL certification is desirable, but not required
Experience administering and supporting HR, Asset/Work Management, and Energy Trading information systems; Laboratory, Energy and Water management systems is highly beneficial
