Colorado Springs Utilities is looking to hire an Applications Administrator to join our team. In this job, you will support our technology solutions through maintenance and support troubleshooting of both in-house developed and commercial off-the-shelf applications (COTS) deployed on-site and in public and private clouds. Key applications supported include Human Resources, Financial, Asset and Work Management, and a variety of applications supporting utility operations and engineering. As an Applications Administrator , you will be expected to work semi-autonomously on moderate to complex incidents, problems, and projects. This requires possessing knowledge and breadth of experience supporting multiple applications of varying technologies as you will be expected to run software upgrades with minimal direction leveraging internal and external resources. What you will be doing...
Creating, maintaining, and monitoring applications and/or programs and ensuring proper functionality and system reliability
Working directly with requestors and stakeholders on incident resolution and change requests
Maintaining data integrity within applications
Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex software and database issues resolve production application/system issues
Performing research on technical software and related questions
Planning, creating, improving, and maintaining procedures and documentation related to administration of software applications, system and architecture design, implementation and back-out plans, user management, and system release management
Configuring and refining system monitoring and alerts
Coordinating with vendor support for issue resolutions, patching, system upgrades, and release management
Managing small application related projects to include requirements gathering and assessment, high-level design, effort estimations, and ROI analysis Collaborate with teams to analyze and solve Colorado Springs Utilities’ application challenges
Supporting existing production processes and identifying opportunities for process improvement
Translating functional requirements into technical solutions as well as clearly communicating & document the solutions as needed
Who you are...
You will either come with a bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline or an equivalent number of years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree implementing and supporting enterprise-wide applications
You will possess excellent troubleshooting skills, analytical skills, and critical thinking for solving application issues
You will have the ability to successfully prioritize service issues based on multiple competing objectives and effectively communicate with team members and customers
You will demonstrate technical aptitude, be an agile learner, and be able to understand and disseminate technical information. Willingness and commitment to ongoing learning and self-development
Highly Desirable Experience
System monitoring tools and techniques
ITIL certification
Experience administering and supporting Asset/Work Management and AutoCAD systems is highly beneficial
Experience working with SQL and knowledge of PowerShell is beneficial
