As a publicly owned utility, Colorado Springs Utilities is dedicated to providing our ratepayer owners resiliency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness across all four of our service lines; Electric, Gas, Water and Wastewater. The Demand Side Management & Distributed Energy Strategies group is tasked with leading the Electric and Gas services through the transition to a clean energy future. We do this by providing solutions for customers to reduce existing energy use and developing future strategies for the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy; be part of history by implementing energy solutions for a cleaner, greener tomorrow!
We are actively seeking a creative and collaborative individual to be a valuable contributor with a vision for the future in our evolving suite of energy efficiency, demand response, and renewable energy programs. As a key member of the Demand Side Management and Distributed Energy Strategies team, you will work directly with the DSM and Lead Engineer. Additionally, work collaboratively within the DSM and DES teams, the Water Demand Management team, and stakeholder groups throughout the utility and municipal government to deliver products and solutions that meet both operational and customer needs across multiple utility services.
As the Project Engineer, you will:
Assist with the day-to-day operation of DSM programs, including tracking, forecasting, and updating customer information records, and resolving customer issues
Perform inspections at customer sites as part of the program measurement and verification process
Evaluate program effectiveness; recommend and implement enhancements
Perform technical studies and audits
Work collaboratively with Business Account Management, Customer Experience, Service Center, and Planning and Engineering, and other utility staff to continuously improve programs

Who you are : You will bring your Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university and be technology savvy with a vision for the future of the energy industry. You will understand electric and gas utility systems, be customer-focused and have the capability to adapt to unique situations encountered at customer sites. This position will require a balance of interpersonal and logical skills as well as a desire to learn and share in an era of rapid industry change.
