How you’ll enjoy spending your day:

  • Ensuring safe work practices and helping to continue to grow the safety culture within the Craft and Department

  • Partnering with peers within and outside of the department to identify and solve issues and achieve Craft, Department and Organizational goals

  • Seeking and implementing industry Best Practices by partnering with external organizations.

  • Hiring, supervising, developing, coaching, and mentoring staff, including monitoring and evaluating personnel per the Personnel Policies Manual

  • Helping to drive applicable technology enhancements to positively impact the quality and efficiency of the work performed by the Craft.

  • Managing resources (personnel, equipment, budgets) to optimize the Energy Construction, Operations and Maintenance Sections safety, functionality and efficiency

  • Developing short and long-term plans and performance goals supporting the department’s strategic planning goals and initiatives

  • Managing scheduled and unscheduled installations, repairs, replacements, and integrating preventative maintenance programs and corrective maintenance work orders

  • Providing Work Center point of contact for electric emergencies, both during regular work hours and after-hours, ensuring the necessary resources are allocated to resolve the issue

  • Subject Matter Expert for major storm response team who is typically responsible for partnering with peers to manage the restoration of affected electric services throughout the service territory

  • Researching, developing and monitoring programs to optimize operations, improve quality, and anticipate/meet regulatory, quality, safety, and other requirements

  • Developing, supervising and evaluating workforce development strategies and programs, apprenticeship and certification programs

  • Representing the Department or Organization in various internal and external meetings and functions

In addition, if selected, you will need to work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as business needs dictate.

What you’ll bring to the table: Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Line Crew Supervisor directing the activities of several subordinates in a crew environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated extensive craft experience including expertise in facilitating the tactical management of resources including personnel and equipment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated superior teaming, supervisory, leadership, mentoring/coaching, and leading and adapting to change skills.

Typical Licensing/Certification Requirements:

  • Commercial Driver’s License is required

  • First Aide Certification, CPR Certification are all desirable
