How Will You Make an Impact?
Our Fuels and Purchase Power group is seeking an Energy Scheduler to schedule, release idle transportation capacity, research, plan, and evaluate resource supply systems and economic factors to optimize supply resources and reliability. Some of the additional ways in which you will make an impact include:
Scheduling, routing, and confirming gas usage transportation, storage, and peaking contracts on various transporting pipelines through a nomination and confirmation process
Ensuring daily nominations are submitted to the pipelines before FERC deadlines expire
Reviewing pipeline electronic bulletin boards to keep the team informed of constraints or other transportation issues
Avoiding pipeline penalties and managing imbalance differences between pipelines, storage providers, suppliers, and buyers
Reconciling pipeline volume balances and reports on reasons for delivery failures
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with pipelines, suppliers, and markets to facilitate the uninterrupted flow of gas and to resolve discrepancies
Releasing excess capacity to third parties to reduce the LDC's transportation charges
Responding to changing load and supply resource situations
Arranging for transportation, storage, and other services associated with sales and purchases
Please note that this position operates on an on-call rotation for weekends and holidays to manage the overall long/short positions via all available tools.
Who You Are
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in power, natural gas, or related energy trading areas
Ability to adjust to perform under stress in a dynamic environment and adjust to multiple and changing priorities
Strong attention to detail with an ability to drive results and outcomes
Knowledge, skills, and expertise with the following are valued for this role:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
Experience with ETRM systems and related analytical software products
Knowledge of natural gas/coal/propane and diesel marketing principles
Familiarity with applicable regulations including FERC, NAESB, and NCC
Commodity management
Analytical and evaluation techniques of complex technical data
