Join the Colorado Springs Utilities team! We are seeking a driven Data Architecture Leader to strengthen the impact of our business information. Analyze the data needs of the company and uses skills in coding to maintain secure databases. They then collect and organize the data obtained. As a critical member of our team, you will lead our efforts to improve the availability and useability of the data that drives our organization's success.

Key Focus Areas:
Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models
Help design the governance, assurance, and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance of projects and products
Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
Guide implementations regarding adherence to standards and models
Oversee, or consult on, technology implementation and modification activities (for example, projects and products), particularly for new or shared technology solutions
Work closely with the domain managers, portfolio supervisors, and architecture peers (e.g., technology, business, information, infrastructure, network, security, and solutions architects) to enable solution agility, scalability, and resilience to support required product needs throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead the documentation of the necessary enterprise data architecture design and analysis work, possibly including project postmortem documentation and metric collection
Engage with the Business owner on the development and administration of Data Governance
Develop necessary conceptual designs for custom integrations while ensuring integrity between applications
Provide clarity and direction on data operations topics including archive, backup, and lifecycle
Who you are... The successful candidate will come with years of demonstrated related experience, in-depth skills in designing and implementing information solutions, and hands-on experience implementing data and analytics management programs. Additionally, a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Experience as a database administrator
Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF
Modeling experience with modeling language ArchiMate
Strong math and analytical skills are essential to complete job requirements successfully
Able to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to management
Experience working with private and sensitive personal information
Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed
Strong computer skills and ability to use necessary databases and software
Interpersonal and customer service skills are required when meeting with and interviewing potential clients
Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies
Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously
