ERP and Corporate Information Systems**

Colorado Springs Utilities is looking to hire a Intermediate level Enterprise Systems Application Administrator to join our team. In this job, while working with multiple internal applications of varying technologies, you will support our technology solutions through implementation, maintenance and complex troubleshooting of both in-house developed and Commercial off-the-shelf systems (COTS) deployed on site and in public and private clouds

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Manage and administer software systems to ensure high availability, reliability, interconnectivity, and security of the supported business applications in the portfolio

  • Manage and administer application servers and software above the OS layer

  • Install/Configure/Decommission/Deploy/Tune Software Applications

  • System password changes; Certificate maintenance

  • Run simple software upgrades with minimal direction leveraging internal and external resources

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production application/system issues

  • Identify, evaluate, coordinate, schedule and install application related patches and upgrades

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing, including producing/maintaining disaster recovery plan

  • Configure and refine system monitoring and alerts

  • Plan, create, improve, and maintain procedures and documentation related to administration of software applications, system and architecture design, implementation and back-out plans, user management, and system release management

  • Automate System Administration functions, such as environment refreshes and password changes

  • Accountable for promoting changes to QA and Production

  • Clone / refresh environments

  • Coordinates with vendor support for issue resolutions, patching, system upgrades, and release management

  • Managing small application related projects to include requirements gathering and assessment, high level design, effort estimations and ROI analysis

Skills/Abilities:

  • Successfully prioritize service issues based on multiple competing objectives

  • Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated with strong customer relationship and excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness and commitment to ongoing learning and self-development

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, analytical skills and critical thinking for operating systems and network issues

  • Technical aptitude –Excellent ability to learn, understand and then disseminate the information of a technical nature

  • Ability to work autonomously in the office and remotely

This position requires Rotational On-Call support of mission-critical applications 7x24**

What will it take to be successful? Highly qualified candidates will bring a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field. The ideal candidates will bring more than three years of demonstrated Application support experience as a Windows Application/System administrator in a live production environment. Additional Required Experience:

  • One or more; Web servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, IIS

  • One or more; PowerShell, Java, Web Services, XML

  • Technical process definition and optimization

Highly Desirable Experience:

  • System monitoring tools and techniques

  • ITIL certification

  • Experience administering and supporting HR, Financial system, Asset/Work Management, and Energy Trading information systems; Laboratory information, Energy and Water management systems is highly beneficial
