Please note that positions will be filled at a Level I or II depending upon the experience, knowledge, and skill of the selected candidate.

The Level I pay range is $28.70/hr. to $33.77/hr. (equivalent to a $59,606 to $70,242 salary). The Level II pay range is $35.57/hr. to $43.02/hr. (equivalent to a $73,986 to $89,842 salary).

Why Should You Join Our Team?

Our Technology Service and Support team is seeking Level I and II Hardware and Software Support Technicians to install, operate, diagnose, analyze, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hardware (e.g., computers, tablets, printers) and their operating systems. You will provide endpoint support for all users at Colorado Springs Utilities, and the work that you do is critical to supporting our infrastructure of computers, phones, printers, copiers, and a variety of applications necessary for our employees to successfully perform their jobs.

How Will You Make an Impact?

  • Providing technical support by independently troubleshooting technology equipment and software systems and applications

  • Collaborating with other sections in our Infrastructure group and across our Technology department to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of technology across the organization

  • Providing technical and in-service assistance for inter/intra network communications including voice, data, and video

  • Performing backups of departmental data across the organization to comply with investigative needs

  • Testing, setting up, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of audio, audio-visual, video, interactive, and presentation-related equipment systems

  • Managing the provisioning and monitoring of device usage and enrollment of new devices in our inventory

  • Overseeing organizational telecommunications records and reports, including cellular phone procurement and assignment, and billing and coordinating with telecommunications account providers

As a Level II Technician, you will also make an impact through:

  • Consulting with end-users to create hardware, software, and system solutions using problem-solving and analysis techniques and procedures to ensure organization-wide standardized and supportable operating structure

  • Testing and/or modifying computer systems and/or programs, including products in beta, as prescribed by users and/or system design specifications to work on standardized organizational computer image

  • Developing and implementing in-service training activities for users and staff based on best practices, troubleshooting, and reporting problems

Who You Are

  • Relevant and progressively responsible technology support experience

  • Proficiency in Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android OS is valued

Level I

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is valued

  • Certifications in CompTIA ITF+ and/or CompTIA+ are valued

Level II

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is valued

  • Certifications in CompTIA ITF+ and/or CompTIA+ Licenses/Certifications in any of the following are valued: Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, Microsoft 365 Device Management, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert (Office 365 and Office 2019), CompTIA Network+, JAMF 200/300/370/400
