How Will You Make an Impact?

Our award-winning corporate university is seeking an Instructional Design Specialist to join our team! In this position, you will join a highly collaborative team of organizational development professionals responsible for coordinating and delivering enterprise-wide learning curricula to our employees. The work that you do with training design will provide our workforce with the tools and knowledge needed to stay ahead of the business curve through innovative thinking, coaching, and strategic planning. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and apply your skills and expertise to the entire instructional design process, including performing gap analyses, creating and developing training content, and using state-of-the-art tools and technology (e.g., Lectora, Camtasia Studio) to develop content and design training. Some of the additional ways in which you will make an impact include:

  • Conducting comprehensive job-task, performance, and audience analyses

  • Combining instructional design principles, advanced adult-learning theory, multi-media technology, and accelerated learning concepts to design and develop innovative training solutions (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, virtual, self-study)

  • Developing audio/video training solutions and deliverables

  • Analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating job-specific training programs

  • Exploring and evaluating emerging training technologies and approaches

  • Collaborating with subject matter experts, designers, and trainers during course design and development

  • Managing major projects and programs from inception to completion within aggressive time frames using project management tools and techniques

Who You Are

  • Relevant and progressively responsible training and development/instructional design experience, preferably in a corporate learning environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Technology Education, Organizational Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field is valued

  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) / Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification, and/or executive coaching certification is valued

  • Knowledge of and experience in applying the competencies necessary to perform in each of the following areas are valued: learning design, improving human performance, delivering training, coaching, performance consultation, measuring/evaluating training, project management, strategic management, career planning, and talent management

  • Knowledge of and experience applying adult learning theories, individual culture, and learning styles, needs analysis, learning objectives, application exercises/interactivity, learning assessments, and course evaluations

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), friendly and supportive customer service skills, willingness to engage in difficult conversations while demonstrating professionalism, and the ability to remain flexible and balance multiple priorities
