IT Test Lead
Do you have a passion for testing and leading test initiatives? If yes, Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an Information Technology Quality Assurance and Testing Lead. In this job you will work closely with the IT Quality Assurance and Test Supervisor in leading, maturing, and sustaining the program. The program includes testing of independent objectives for software packages, infrastructure to support those packages, configuration, development, enhancements, patching, upgrades, integrations and implementation of commercial off the shelf and custom developed enterprise applications. The position will bring experience to implement industry best practices for testing and quality assurance. The IT Test Lead will be responsible for ensuring the correct testing tools and processes are used for manual and automated testing.
What your focus will be:
Leading the automation team to design an effective automation framework to include the evaluation of processes, procedures, tools, licensing, cost analysis and making appropriate recommendations
Researching, evaluating, recommending test management tools and procedures to include licensing, cost analysis and making appropriate recommendations
Leading large initiatives as the Program Test Lead, planning, organizing and coordinating with individual project test leads
Reviewing and giving input to the testing standards and processes including:
Manual, performance and automated testing functions for IT Projects and maintenance release cycles
Creation and implementation of testing templates including; test plans, traceability matrices, test case templates for unit testing, system integration testing and user acceptance testing
Defect tracking and prioritization
Developing and communicating testing return on investment (ROI) metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Participation in requirements gathering for business, technical, functional and non-functional requirements
Able and willing to perform manual testing, writing project test plans, developing requirements traceability matrices, writing and executing test cases, and defect logging

What will it take to be successful? Most people typically offer 7+ years of progressive experience as Test Lead in a relevant information technology-oriented field as an analyst or systems engineer. Also come with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Software Engineering or closely related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Additionally, if you have experience in the following, please include on your resume:
Strong experience in implementing complex functional and non-functional tests requiring an understanding of application logic; The ability to lead teams and drive results by exerting influence without direct supervisory authority
Experience installing and administering test management tools; Experience with testing multiple products going through multiple release cycles; Ability to develop automated testing processes and scripts
Working knowledge of structure and behavior of .NET C#, XML and Java applications; knowledge of databases and the ability to write SQL queries
Knowledge of testing software suites and tools; Knowledge of ITIL and Change Management, Release Management Processes; Quality control concepts and methodologies; Automated testing tools and processes
