Colorado Springs Utilities Information Technology department is hiring a Business Systems Analyst Specialist. This position will be the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Process Owner for Change Enablement (Change Management) and Deployment (Release Management). This will include managing and documenting process improvement, governance, standards, and policy. In collaboration with the Change and Release team, this Specialist is responsible for planning and coordinating production changes and releases. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the integrity of the production environment is protected and that the correct components are released on schedule.

In this vitally challenging role, you will have the opportunity to apply your Release Management expertise in planning and managing work to safeguard the integrity of the releases with a focus on understanding and meeting business needs.

How you will make an impact...

  • Process Owner for Change Enablement (Change Management) and Deployment (Release Management). Identify and implement improvements in collaboration with stakeholders. Document standards, processes, and policy. Provide governance and oversight.

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate technology deployments

  • Manage risk and resolve issues related to the release quality, scope, or schedule

  • Conduct Change Reviews, Release Readiness Reviews, and Go/No-Go Reviews

  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations

  • Maintain the Release Schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors

  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

  • Work within the ITIL framework to ensure standards and procedures are being adhered to throughout the change process

  • Define and measure key KPIs and metrics for Change and Release process efficiency and effectiveness

What will it take to be successful... You will bring your IT experience providing extensive expertise in change management, release coordination and release management with broad knowledge of ITIL Practices. Advanced written and verbal communication skills are essential. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Experience in developing data visualization and analytics dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI and Excel is highly desired.

Additional skills we seek:

  • Advanced knowledge of ITIL practices and experience with ITIL process/practice implementation

  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion and set deadlines

  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills

  • Systems analysis or development experience in an information systems operations environment

  • Defining, monitoring, and measuring service delivery KPIs and metrics

  • Developing data visualization and analytics dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI and Excel

  • SharePoint application development and tools such as Power Automate

  • PowerShell scripting for automation

  • Experience using or administering Service Now

  • ITIL Foundation V3 or V4 certification and other advanced ITIL certifications
