Line Specialist Cable Technician
The Line Specialist Cable Technician is responsible for the operational needs and minor maintenance on our distribution system. In this position, you will work with Planning and Engineering, Construction & Maintenance, and Distribution Control. This position will perform a wide variety of technical duties, and will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance on job sites and is subject to stand by duty. As a Line Specialist Cable Technician you will be:
Assisting in the construction, maintenance and removal of underground and overhead power lines and equipment
Ensuring quality of work performed in compliance with standard operating policies
Performing clean up and safe handling of hazardous waste from system equipment
Performing Distribution and Transmission Switching to accommodate repairs and clearances
Setting up clearances and hotline holds for emergency power restoration
Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and work procedures
Reviewing technical documents and designs for accuracy
The successful candidate will be subject to working in adverse work and weather conditions and is subject to overtime and stand-by hours.

What will it take to be successful? While most candidates will have successfully completed a certified Line Technician Apprenticeship program, and possess a valid CDL Class A driver’s license, and have at least two to four years experience working as a journey level line technician, we are most interested in your demonstrated professional skills and accomplishments in the following areas:
Performing physical aspects of line construction and maintenance
Applying safety standards in completing work assignments
Electrical systems principles, voltage requirements, equipment, installation and maintenance
Interpreting specifications, schematics and written instructions
Metering principles and practices
Installing and maintaining electrical distribution and transmissions systems
