Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Meter Data Management (MDM) Business Application Administrator (BAA) on our Customer Applications Management (CAM) team. In this job, you will help implement, administer and manage support services of the Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management application, Smart Grid Gateway and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solution.

Meter Data Management will enable the use of a wide range of innovative technology initiatives at CSU. In this collaborative role, you will serve as the MDM subject matter expert and liaison between internal customers and external vendors. Initially, your focus will be devoted to standing up MDM and thereafter taking the lead on supporting this mission critical application.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support the daily operations of the business-critical MDM applications. This would include, configuration, user provisioning, performance monitoring, and issue identification, system/application test, and problem resolution

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on the MDM Applications for current and future stakeholders

  • Evaluate the system and build a support plan that ensures a smooth transition during go-live, and subsequently, serve as the application and user advocate weighing risk vs return regarding system and application updates

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues, problems, and unplanned outages

  • Create, analyze, and maintain all documentation to include, business requirements, system requirements, SLA’s, user manuals, and training materials

  • Support the data analysis efforts led by other CAM and Customer Service Department team members. Ensure proposed changes which will be unsupportable, decrease system stability, or reduce existing functionality are identified as early as possible

  • Your primary role will be implementing, administering and finally supporting the MDM application once we are live. You will be responsible for owning the support model and plan, ensuring its ongoing success.

  • Assume primary professional ownership and responsibility for MDM while maintaining sufficient knowledge and awareness of all domains to perform back-up and on-call duties for the following:

  • Payment Processing

  • Customer Information Systems

  • Customer Contact Solutions

  • Mobile Workforce Management

  • Bill Creation, Printing, & Delivery

What will it take to be successful? Highly qualified candidates will bring 5 or more years of experience administering, supporting, or developing a MDM system (preferably Oracle) or relevant business applications in an information technology field. Desired skills would be a Bachelor’s or higher degree in an applicable subject, ITIL certification, database query (SQL), data analysis, business automation, and testing skills, experience working on technology project teams, and using waterfall and agile methodologies. **Together with the rest of the BAAs, you will be required to participate in the On-Call rotation. When on-call, be available 24 hours a day to provide immediate support to investigate and resolve urgent or emergency issues with any of the CAM supported applications.
