How Will You Make an Impact?

Our Technology Service and Support team is seeking a Modern Device Management Administrator to plan, develop, oversee, implement, and maintain operational support of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) infrastructure and Modern Device Management (MDM) software. The work that you do impacts Colorado Springs Utilities through creating, managing, updating, and patching images and end-user software on employee end points. This role is critical to support our infrastructure of desktops, laptops, desk phones, cell phones, printers, copiers, and a wide array of applications used by our employees. Some of the ways in which you will make an impact include:

  • Creating, configuring, installing, and managing device policies and profiles for all end-user system and mobile device management platforms (i.e., Windows OS, iPadOS, and iOS)

  • Managing SQL databases, installing/configuring Windows Server operating systems on and Microsoft SQL databases, and generating SQL queries to extract data from inventory database

  • Providing third-tier technical assistance and support to employees by independently troubleshooting technology issues and equipment and software applications/systems

  • Collaborating with other sections within our Infrastructure Group and across the Technology Department to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve operation and efficiency of technologies

  • Recommending computer/endpoint policy standards for end-user systems in the common operating environment and specialty environments

  • Developing and implementing in-service training activities for users and staff on best practices, troubleshooting, and reporting problems

  • Providing technical and in-service assistance for inter/intra network communications including voice, data, and video

  • Performing backups of departmental data across the organization to comply with investigative needs

  • Testing and/or modifying computer systems and/or programs as prescribed by users and/or system design specifications

Who You Are

  • Demonstrated experience with the setup and operation of SCCM/MECM, MDM Solutions, and Intune (co-management) solutions

  • Demonstrated experience with Windows image creation and patch management

  • Demonstrated experience developing, deploying, and updating Group Policy

  • Demonstrated experience managing Windows, iOS, and iPadOS platforms

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools

  • Experience with hardware and software break/fix procedures

  • Experience with Audio / Visual equipment valued, but not required

  • Experience with ServiceNow valued, but not required

  • Current CompTIA ITF+ and/or CompTIA A+ certifications

  • Any of the following certifications are valued, but not required

  • Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, Microsoft 365 Device Management, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert (Office 365 and Office 2019), CompTIA Network+, and Jamf 200/300/370/400 certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is valued
