We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our team as a Network Architect . In this job, you will tackle the exciting & challenging technical opportunities and work closely with a team of Network System Engineers who share responsibility for a diverse and interesting mix of network environments including; two data centers, a Metropolitan Area IP Network, LANs distributed across the City of Colorado Springs, Wireless Networks, and Operational Technology Networks supporting the Utilities’ Electric, Gas, Water and Wastewater operations.

Key Areas of Focus:

Network Design

  • Examining and evaluating the network performance

  • Researching new industry-leading network technologies and managing the IT Network Roadmap

  • Designing and building networks by taking into consideration various factors like bandwidth requirements, infrastructure requirements, and security

  • Planning and designing in advance and should often participate in the implementation of network designs

  • Understanding the data communication needs and come up with the best solutions to meet the requirements

  • Designing network needs for servers, configuring components, and resolving any issues prior to implementation

Network Modeling

  • Catering to the needs of network modeling

  • Estimating the growth of the network

  • Upgrading the network equipment from time to time

  • Focusing on the effects the new equipment may have on the network performance

  • Providing recommendations to make accurate upgrading to the network

Networking Equipment Maintenance

  • Managing and monitoring the networking systems

  • Upgrading the network equipment

  • Making sure the required adjustments and minor repairs to ensure that the systems operate smoothly

  • Scheduling maintenance on network systems to avoid any downtime due to networking issues

Who you are… Ideally, you will bring your Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. You must have good communication skills and should be well-versed with problem-solving techniques. Extensive knowledge of computer network operations, security, and wireless systems is preferred. Apart from these regular skills, you should be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Keep track of company network needs

  • Quickly solve the network issues

  • Focus on new network systems

  • Must invest time to design network data systems

  • Maintaining proper records of the networks they design to include: resolving network issues, network drawings, text description, and equipment configuration.

  • Good knowledge about networking components such as routers, modems, adaptors, switches, VPNs, Firewalls, LoadBalancers, and servers

  • Be well-versed with all aspects of project management such as team-building, staff training, and scheduling
