As a Network Transport Supervisor, you will join our talented Network Transport Services Portfolio responsible for leading the Field Engineering Team within Network Transport Services. You will be responsible for organization-wide initiatives that help create the vision and guide the evolution of our business, systems, and technologies. You will help to ensure that future state plans exist and that initiatives on roadmaps are aligned back to company goals. You will be at the forefront of influencing alignment on and adoption of enterprise telecommunications architecture standards and direction.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Manage the analysis, design, testing, implementation, integration, security and administration of complex technology solutions

  • Hire, supervise, develop, coach and mentor staff; monitor and evaluate performance

  • Establish policies, procedures, and practices to optimize functionality and assure standards for safety, efficiency, and quality control are enforced

  • Responsible for advanced engineering and analytical activities associated within the telecom function

  • Manage the financial, human, and equipment resources necessary to maintain SLA’s

  • Develop and implement short- and long-range strategic / operational goals, plans, programs and initiatives

  • Evaluate proposals; negotiate, execute and manage key contracts; ensure contractors’ obligations and contract terms are met

  • Manage major work plans and project initiatives; monitors and evaluates work progress; ensures achievement of milestones through to completion

  • Develop and manages annual budget

  • Direct personnel and resources in researching, responding to and resolving service requests

  • Manage staff and resources to support inspections, testing, planned outages and special projects

  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled installations, repairs and replacements

  • Serve as representative to and liaison with contractors, consultants, customers, agencies, and other divisions

  • Develop and present reports, findings and recommendations

  • Determine requirements, create Statements of Work (SOW), and negotiates contracts for equipment and services

  • Develop, supervise and evaluate workforce development strategies, programs, apprenticeships and certification programs

  • Provide on-going capacity management, performance management, and re-design support for network systems

  • Create and maintains documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records

  • Ensure network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications

  • Manage and utilize software applications to provide security, monitoring, capacity and fault management on telecom network equipment

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery

Who you are...

You are likely someone who comes with at least six years of relevant and progressively responsible experience in the telecommunications space, and a Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or related discipline. Experience with and knowledge of SCADA, ADMS, DRM, DER, Microgrids, Smart Grids, and project solution architecture is highly beneficial. Understanding of distributed communications needs in a utilities context is valued, as is exposure to diverse systems, technologies, and processing environments.

In addition to the technical aspects of this job, you excel at building and maintaining teams, relationships and driving results through collaboration and clear, effective communication. You are also a critical and analytical thinker with the ability to navigate the evolving technology landscape and possess a willingness to research and review creative solutions, and navigate new and existing challenges in the network transport space.

This role requires a valid, non-restricted driver's license
