Our Wastewater Collection department is hiring a Pump Mechanic Specialist . In this role, you will perform a wide variety of skilled activities related to operating, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems and equipment that support the reliability and performance of wastewater collection systems. Your expert mechanical/operational knowledge and skill will be utilized to ensure the effective operation of lift stations and their associated components. This position is essential to the successful transmission of wastewater from our customers to the wastewater treatment plant.
***This role will require working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour call-outs as business needs demand. In addition, you will work in hazardous conditions and be subject to working in inclement weather.
What you will be doing…
Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting wastewater lift stations and force mains
Troubleshooting, analyzing, and correcting lift station irregularities
Inspecting and maintaining wet wells, and dry wells
Coordinating lift station outages
Shutting down and isolating wastewater force mains
Operating wastewater pumping, flushing, and transporting equipment
Performing inspection maintenance and repair of wastewater, air, and vacuum valves; preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of lift station equipment
Researching, identifying, and ordering spare or replacement parts for lift station equipment system components
Inspecting, testing, and preparing confined spaces for safe entry
Who you are…
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater lift stations and collection systems
Level 2 Colorado State Wastewater Collections Certification; Preferred Level 4 Colorado State Wastewater Collections Certification
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license; CDL Class A is prefer

In-depth understanding of and experience with lift/pump stations systems including Collection, Raw Water, Potable Water, & Non-potable Wastewater and Water Systems
Lift stations/collection systems troubleshooting techniques, maintenance, and repair skills
Water distribution/collection systems operations skills
Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
Strong planning and work prioritization skills
Ability to provide technical guidance to personnel and contractors
Knowledge of pump operations and understanding of pump curves, efficiencies, and technology
Ability to read and understand maps, construction drawings, specifications, and as-builds
Knowledge of and commitment to safety practices and processes
