Identity and Access Management (IAM)**

Join our team at Colorado Springs Utilities and be a part of a major technology transformation! In this role, you will use your business acumen and business analysis skills to contribute to the goals and objectives of the IT strategic roadmap programs, projects, and other initiatives. You will collaborate with multiple project and portfolio teams and business stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and document current and future state business processes, improvement opportunities, solution capabilities and needs related to identity and physical access management.

The Identity and Access Management team defines, builds, and optimizes the policies, processes, documentation, and tools necessary to ensure Colorado Springs Utilities’ digital and physical identity infrastructure is efficient, scalable and resilient. Working under the supervision of the Identity and Access Management portfolio supervisor and technical lead, this individual will support the activities of a cross-platform team responsible for authentication, identity and physical access management, and integrations for the enterprise.


  • Develop strong partnerships with business and IT stakeholders to understand the business goals, objectives, needs, challenges, and improvement opportunities

  • Conduct business needs and functional/non-functional requirements elicitation

  • Complete functional requirements documentation through the full requirements sign-off process

  • Advise and assist others in the development of governance models and IAM role-based access models

  • Serve as a business enabler through your efforts to support the business and the technology teams in their efforts to define, plan, document, develop, deploy and support secure, policy-compliant, high-performance IAM integrations, processes, and solutions

  • Generate or update reports used by business and technical partners

  • Participate in system reviews at regular intervals

  • Participate in system testing and validation

  • Participate in current state assessments and gap analysis

  • Sense of urgency to respond to requests with strict deadlines

  • Be part of on-call rotation to support the identity and physical access software

What will it take to be successful? The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience guiding teams in the definition, requirements, and implementation of ERP or Identity and Access Management solution. In addition, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Cyber Security, or closely related field is preferred.

Additional qualifications we seek:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, project management skills, including work prioritization, planning, and task delegation

  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in both writing and speaking. It also requires good listening skills to understand the organization's problems and propose appropriate solutions

  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for solving unstructured problems, and ability to challenge the status quo for continuous improvement

  • Analytical mindset and ability to see the big picture and persuade others to see the same

  • Strong discipline regarding enforcement of access management core principles

  • Experience in using business analysis and requirements elicitation tool

Desired Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of the full user identity and access management lifecycle

  • Ability to explain technical concepts and adjust messaging based on the audience, including non-technical groups

  • Experience in Identity and Access Management methodologies, specifically as it relates to Role Based Access Control (RBAC) or Policy Based Access Control (PBAC)

  • Experience in one or more implementation of ERP or identity access solution.

  • Experience in C-CURE support and administration
