This job is eligible for relocation assistance to aid with the costs of relocating to the Colorado Springs area.
Colorado Springs Utilities' Plant Information (PI) Team is responsible for collecting and monitoring real-time data from our plants while supporting personnel across our four utility services (natural gas, electric, water, and wastewater) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Our team uses AVEVA/OSIsoft PI to collect and analyze plant data and build custom analytic dashboards to help inform decision-making and action around plant operations. Our team is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support and collaborate with our four-service utility operations to gather requirements and implement solutions, ensuring the reliability and integrity of our data collection systems.
A day in the life of a Senior System Administrator may include:
Managing time series and relational databases
Maintaining and supporting Operational Driven Reliability programs with Industrial Mobile Solutions
Industrial Real-time System Administration for AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System, SEL Disturbance Monitoring, SKF, and StackVision
Performing scheduled Industrial Life Cycle Management and maintenance on the PI system and other operational technology systems
Automating and monitoring PLC, Telemetry, Control System, and SCADA data stream exceptions
Implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting AVEVA/OSIsoft industrial interfaces and software products
Collaborating with customers to design, implement, and deploy Industrial Technology solutions to enhance plant and operational processes
Implementing Industrial Analytics/Smart Analytics using data from operational technologies to modify and optimize processes
Developing, deploying, and maintaining Plant Compliance (Federal and State), Process, and Management Reporting Systems
Performing software updates, server upgrades, and OS patching of plant and operational technology servers
Who You Are
Relevant and progressively responsible systems administration experience; advanced knowledge in AVEVA/PI system administration, development, and integration is preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field is valued
Must be available to commit to a 24x7 weekly rotating on-call schedule
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are valued for this role:
Designing and implementing asset-based data structures (e.g., PI AF)
Basic knowledge of networks, including network security and communication protocols
Oracle and Microsoft SQL server databases, and Microsoft Excel and Power BI
Ability to automate tasks using PowerShell
Experience creating visualization displays and reports using vendor tools or programming
Documenting complex system architecture, processes, and troubleshooting
Hardware lifecycle maintenance and software replacements and upgrades
Programming experience with .Net, PowerShell, and AFSDK
Server and Client Administration experience
