Senior Water Systems Planner Analyst

We are seeking your expertise as a Planner Analyst within our Water System Operations (WSO) department. This is a great opportunity to utilize your advanced data mining and analytical experience, coupled with your exceptional interpersonal skills and aptitude for collaboration, planning, and scheduling. You will be collaborating with our Source of Supply, Raw Water, Water Treatment and Water Distribution groups on a variety of projects with a focus on balancing the exercising of our water rights with an analysis of our source water to optimize treatment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical, planning, and data quality control activities and reporting, to include operation audits

  • Analysis of source water quality data & trends and analysis of treatment costs based on the water source

  • Research and review of water rights documentation for system optimization

  • Facilitate and conduct planning activities for the schedule and layout of projects, equipment, and planned outages to include the purchase and procurement of project materials

  • Review and assist with the execution of contracts for the procurement of goods, materials, and/or services; to include cost studies and equipment recommendations

  • Create, maintain, and track schedules for maintenance and outages to include materials and resources

  • Use of work management processes, including planning, scheduling, processing of work orders, and supply chain management

  • Assist the development and improvement of asset tracking tools for monitoring equipment performance and life cycle analysis

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis of assets and labor

  • Conduct trend analysis in the areas of corrective maintenance, emergency maintenance, and preventative maintenance activities

  • Conduct trend analysis of budgetary compliance and spending

  • Utilization of computer software applications, including Microsoft Products, for all daily activities

What does it take to be successful in this role? The successful candidate will have previous experience planning work, performing research, and data analytics.


  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management/Administration, Computer Information Systems or a closely related field – or – have experience in a relevant craft such as Utility Operations and/or Maintenance – or – a combination of education and experience

  • Maintenance and/or Operations experience in the water industry is preferred

  • Experience with development and execution of Work Management processes is preferred

  • Possession of and continually maintaining a current driver’s license

  • Ability to use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) tool
