Our Water Construction and Maintenance (WCM) group is responsible for maintaining physical assets (e.g., water mains, valves, hydrants) used to distribute water to the community. We are pleased to be hiring an experienced Tandem Truck Driver to effectively and safely operate a variety of equipment to support the success of services provided by Colorado Springs Utilities.
Starting pay rate for a Truck Driver is $25.69/hr. Your pay rate, upon successfully completing probation (typically 6 months), will increase to a single pay rate, which is currently $26.97/hr.
What you’ll be doing…
Operating tandem dump trucks to and from job sites
Operating loaders to load materials from job sites
Assisting work crews in the repair and installation of pipeline systems
Hauling supplies from vendor storage sites
Hauling equipment on trailers to job sites
Performing pre and post-trip inspections on equipment
Operating special purpose trucks (i.e., 2,500-3,000 gallon water tanker)
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in field construction/maintenance with operating tandem dump trucks; experience in water construction is valued
Ability to read street and roadmaps; determine weight capacities of operated vehicles; identify hazardous materials; perform preventative maintenance; transport materials; and inspect vehicles
